Where are these people who are experiencing clear AI disasters? That has not been my experience but I'm for you to stay away from AI and work on reducing your disasters, maybe there is a common factor there.

The stated reason is that some LLM may discover bugs in an unused piece of code, not that their LLMs are somewhat harder to use because of this code but sure go on. So this has as much sense as it would have even if the Kernel stance was "no ai use in kernel code".

Let's save money on electricity by buying a new piece of hardware, a parallel port hat for that hardware ($150 all in for a 4b 4G + the hat, cheaper variants are out of stock on Ada fruit), and ignore the fact that you now rely on your software supporting arm instead of widely supported x86. Not to mention the environmental impact of producing new hardware and then creating e-waste.

@momentomori1747 It will take about 2 months to save enough money on electric that even the much more modern pi 5 becomes more affordable. Also, there is no such thing as e-waste, it all gets recycled.

@GregoryAlbright-t3p “Recycling” is a propaganda term invented by industrialists to encourage people to buy new stuff. Very few things in general can truly be recycled and mostly end up in landfills.

@Studentertøser I worked in waste stream management many years ago now, This is wrong. Every little bit of stuff that is not landfill that has some resale value gets removed from the trash stream. Your electronics can go straight in the trash guilt free.

The other widows 95 was the other. I don't even known the types and configuration of the ports.

It's too expensive to replace or tinker with.

But hey, let's try by trial and error to convert it to ARM... When error means 70% chance to break it...
