Well, if you can notice the dilation of people's pupils with a few casual glances, then good for you, you either have an amazing eyesight or you talk to people like 4 inches from their faces.

But yes, it's not foolproof, it can't be, you won't just find an algorithm here to see if a girl likes you, different people are different and you lack the instrumentation to detect changes in their blood vessels or whatever biological processes are correlated with it, as if it fucking mattered.

Actually the pupil thing is not hard to do. Apparently it can be used in poker to see when someone has a good hand, which is why they all use sunglasses, so it will even work across a table a few feet across. Generally you can tell when someone looks away, then looks back at [you, their cards, the other guy in the room, etc.]. It's quite noticeable. Of course it's not to be taken in isolation - you would need a strong repeated signal on multiple occasions to be sure it wasn't interference of some kind - but I've definitely found it to be more accurate than, say, arm touching etc.
