It is the land of freedom, because if such a case were to go to court, it would instantly be thrown out on grounds of violation of the First Amendment.
However, if this occurred in some "enlightened" European country, the case would be taken seriously by the court, and the defendant may be slapped with some bullshit charge that ruins his life, all for speaking out against his government.
Hint: NSA doesn't take cell phone anonymity lightly.

You may have produced one example here, but in general, the privacy sphere of the US is still far better than that of Europe (and is quickly changing, sadly).
