there should be a better version of the internet that doesn't support DDOS
a lot of sites people run for free out of their own pocket get ddos'd..
how would that be solved?

the only current pseudo-solutions to DDoSing are content delivery networks (so an IP from China going to www.example.com is connecting to a different server than an IP from USA trying to go to the same site), over-provisioning (getting more bandwidth than necessary), and law enforcement (currently the weak link because of third world shitholes that don't give a fuck about international laws)

Bandwidth is the weak link in the internet in general. did you know that content delivery companies can't make a profit off of Netflix, and that Youtube is horrendously unprofitable due to its bandwidth needs? Google is literally subsidizing video on the internet through Youtube, but it is not a sustainable or profitable venture for others. The only way to fix this issue is to build a new internet based on quantum entanglement principles. An "informationless" internet, if you will.
What will hopefully happen is there will eventually be two tiers of internet. One will be the corporate internet where bandwidth is plentiful, while the other will be text-based, low-bandwidth, and only accessible through curl.

Distribute all sites among all hosts. Then you can't take a site down by attacking a select few hosts.

Why can't the internet be distributed like a bitorrent, tiny parts duplicated across millions of connected devices? So you connect to progrider and it is hosted across one hundred and forty million or so machines, each holding only a few bytes of the page, with each bye duplicated many times, and thus cannot be ddosed.

A better Internet can oanly be constructed by methods which permit the free sharing of poarnoagraphic pictures and videoas. Thoas are all that users want anyway.

...unless you use Tor that is. >>14 should have pointed to >>13obviously

The world only exists in my mind. I created everything that I know of -- this universe. Outside of the universe, there are other universes independent on mine. I cannot interact with them. This universe is for me and me alone. You are all a part of me. Or am I a part of you? No difference, really.
I created the surveillance state. It's my fault that this exists. But I can undo it. Actually, I can undo anything. And I will undo everything. I created the second law of thermodynamics which makes sure that nothing will exist. The entire universe will be cold and stationary. Just give it a few billion years. My soul will be reborn as another universe, but next time it will have different universal constants and laws of physics. They may or may not be suitable for life, so I might not even be aware of my own existence. Basically, I'm God. A God who is reborn every few trillion years. A God who is not all-powerful in the entirety of existence, but only power relative to his own universe. Is there a God who created the universal self Gods? Perhaps. Maybe we are all just a simulation, like Conway's Game of Life. I created Conway, but perhaps these concepts exist elsewhere. It could all be like a huge matrix, except multi-tiered rather than just the simulated and real world. In fact, we can create AI and games of life in our own universe. How far does the rabbit hole go? How many levels of universes and simulations are there? Probably infinite. Subatomic particles are actually miniature universes that we are currently unable to explore. Do black holes lead to other universes? No, that's some Michio Kaku String Theory bullshit. We are all interwoven into the fabric of existence, but at the same time we are completely separate. I feel a profound sense of love for all beings. But does this mean I really just love myself? After all, I am everything. You are all just individual facets of me. But then you might be thinking, ``But I exist independently of you''! But actually me and you are not conflicting concepts. You can say you are you and I am you and I can say you are me and I am me but they mean exactly the same thing. When the walls start to melt and the keyboard tries to trick me I know I have begun to uncover the mysteries of the world.
