The taxpayer system is broken now because not only do most of the wealthy (donald trump included) not have to pay income tax, but the taxes are being used to fund all of the initiatives set in place by corporations' lobbyists and paid politicians in order to fit in with the corporate agenda.
When I say all these initiatives here is an example of what I mean:
the combination of obamacare (guaranteed income) and incentivization for doctors to prescribe pills \ equipment gives pharmaceutical companies perpetual motion. If more people would've opted in the insurance companies would be raking in a fortune too. Instead they are getting reamed and many forced to close. There are lots of other groups are doing the same to influence policies, if you need proof look no further than the leak of the TPP. Even more shockingly they are staging social norm conventions through media campaigns and infiltrating the education system at all levels -- the vary basis of our modern society -- under the guise of doing what's right and equality.
These corporate groups have the capital to leave the u.s. whenever they want and use tricks like the double dutch, offshores,claiming losses or shuffling assets around from business to business.
The loopholes in this perpetual motion machine need to be fixed because the tax system is. In my opinion this means going cold turkey on the liberal progressivism that we're using to straddle other countries, and our own population with massive amounts of debt.
