This is a dead meme. The majority of papers published in chemistry, mathematics, physics, engineering all have East Asian names on them. (CS is one of the last real fields that is still dominated by whites.) To make any breakthroughs in these fields requires a tremendous amount of creativity as well as the rest of cognitive functions. Let's stop with this unsupported idea that there's a special part of the brain for creativity--it's all one thing.

Much of Asia is extremely discouraging of creativity or taking novel routes to solutions, and they struggle to innovate in any area.
