>>8Recent studies done in Switzerland and Luxembourg show that an increase in the viewing of colourful Moe-styled Japanese animation had a directly proportional effect on the subject's Gender Dysphoria.
In one study, 12 males and 12 females--both watched the same amount and type of anime. 8 of the 12 males expressed desires commonly associated with Gender Identity Disorder, while none of the females expressed any sort of desire that can be attributed to Gender Dysphoria. The 8 males responded very favourably to the content, while the rest of the males weren't very interested in the shows' content.
In the past few years, a huge increase in males with Gender Dysphoria was noted. And when surveyed, a lot of them responded positively when asked about Japanese animation. Furthermore, more than half of them responded positively when asked whether they attend ``Anime'' conventions, which signifies their investment in the culture.
