Lend-Lease didn't happen until after the joint Nazi-Soviet invasion of Poland. Which is hardly surprising; most countries of Europe didn't want another war after WWI (which is why they allowed Hitler to take Czechoslovakia, and looked the other way as he rebuilt Germany's military in violation of the Treaty of Versailles), and the US in particular wanted to remain neutral and avoid tying its fate to European affairs. So there was really no reason for the US and the future Allied Powers to start exchanging war materiel until a major war was actually going on.

What "alliance" occurred beyond Molotov–Ribbentrop?

It may have been a ``non-aggression pact" rather than a true ``alliance", but it was still an act which supported Soviet expansionism and worked against the interests of the rest of Europe. Poland was basically the barrier keeping Communism out of Europe; the Soviets had not made a significant attempt at expansion in that direction since their humiliating defeat at Warsaw in 1920. But Hitler's agreement to split up Poland with them basically gave them the go-ahead to make another incursion into Europe. It's doubtful that the Soviets would have invaded at that time if it wasn't for Hitler's agreement with them.
