hooktube is just a spider script stealing content and traffic from youtube for malevolent purposes.
Like all phishing scams, the domain name was chosen to be close to the original website's and a non attentive user could mistakingly click on the hooktube link.

And by the way, if you're curious about Hooktube, you can very easily change the address of any YouTube video into a Hooktube link by replacing the domain name from ``youtube'' to ``hooktube''. It's as simple as that!

Gee, I never knew that. Thank you for the advice. That other guy spammed the Hooktube link so much, I just assumed it was spam. But manually changing the URL over and over again seems like a hassle. There must be a better way.
