Still the best X-Com game.

Terror from the depth.

That is just a cheesy reskin of the first game. Apocalypse had so many detailed subsystems interacting nicely. For example when you order equipment, you order it from precise manufacturer, that has its facilities and offices in the city, you see the cargo vehicles delivering stuff from them to your base, and aliens can infiltrate these manufacturers cutting off supply lines (if player fails to intercept UFOs), and of course totally destructible cityscape allows for these cargo vehicles to be collateral damage in a fight with UFOs, which destroys parts of the city. Everything is missing from modern XComs, but of course they introduced these crappy cinematic cutscenes just to annoy the player.

Julian Gollop is for some reason remaking Terror from the Deep now: his latest game is based on Cthulhu setting, aliens come out of water and it even has monsters like lobstermen:

but yeah, Gollop is one trick pony.

XCOM 2 is a dumbed down first XCOM, but without the cool hand drawn intro. Although it has that funny mod, replacing characters with anime girls.
