If your choices are really stinky shit and only slightly stinky shit, the slightly stinky shit seems better by comparison. But that does not mean it's objectively good. It's still bad.
Just because there are worse places to live than America does not change the fact that there are plenty of problems here.
People have this fantasy that all Americans are rich and happy. Many live in misreable poverty. It doesn't matter if you make more than in your home country, because the cost of living is so high that you'll spend all your cash on getting by anyway.
The American middle class is dying. There are some rich people, but a TON of poor people. There is also what some refer to as the "newly poor" class, who are people that used to be middle class.
