There are 7 billion people. Big corporations have established themselves so it's hard for you to start your own new business. Governments and modern degenerate western cultures have made it so that you have to live your life a certain way. You have the illusion of choice. You can buy consumerist choice #1 or #2 or #1,000,000. But you can't choose to have a traditional, meaningful life, devoid of capitalism, consumerism, pollution, waste, and degeneracy.
If Jesus was born today, he'd just end up being some random dude with 5K followers on Instagram. If Einstein was born in this generation, he'd just waste time correcting people's math and grammar on Reddit. If politicians of the past were millennials, they'd just post on /pol/ and Twitter. DaVinci would post his shit on DeviantArt or tumblr, and he'd get some positive comments, and maybe like $100/month on Patreon, but at the end of the day, there are just so many other great artists out there that he'd be drowned out.
There are so many people born now who will be nobodies. But if they were born generations ago, they would have been somebody, simply because there weren't billions of people to be compared to. Capitalism is a Ponzi scheme that prioritizes the people who got in on it earlier, and later generations are always worse off. One of the side effects of population growth is that you're not as valuable simply because there are so many other highly-skilled and intelligent people. So much competition in every way imaginable. Being good or even great isn't enough to differentiate yourself.
We have been reduced to powerlessness, uselessness, redundancy, and triviality. Those in power make sure the people not in power can't rise up. Today's definition of a successful life is being able to pay your bills and MAYBE owning a house. Not doing great things that have huge effects on the world. Sure, some nobodies can be famous. But they have to fit into certain rules for certain kinds of social media.
