Maybe the military-industrial complex will fix it. People have vested interests in starting wars, so they can sell more weapons and supplies. Maybe WW3 will reduce the population? But it might be too little too late. The world is overpopulated and we're using resources at an unsustainable rate. Climate change is accelerating.
I feel like, no matter what, there will be a bad outcome for humanity. We're all fucked. Powerful people would rather let the entire sink ship than give up their own personal power and wealth.

Also, I don't think genocide is the answer. But perhaps a global one child policy for all countries, kind of like what China used to have, before they recently got rid of it.
