Well, it depends on how you travel and budget tourism(especially alone, and using cheapest accomodations/AirBnB/Backpacking, cheap third-world countries) does exist, but majority of tourists are spending 5-10K$+ per trip. Multiply that by 10 and you now have a cost of car. Now imagine ten years of that you have the cost of house.
