Modern Western civilization is no different than any other civilization. Your only right option is to find time and peace to relive your past and disentangle yourself from the material world by identifying and eradicating all personal connection to it.
This would be true in any civilization, as the material world ensures that everything is equally horrible and nothing is best. Had you been born in another time your perceptions would have adapted and you would be saying that civilization was horrible but the best.
Your mantra must be: All civilization is worthless. All lack of civilization is worthless. All that has worth is ineffable and entirely immaterial. If the mind or body can perceive it, it is worthless.
