Cultural Degeneration

Many lifestyles lead to non-reproductive dead-ends: excluding reproduction or replacing it with simulacrum activity.
Any anti-reproductive trait should lead to its own extinction - at least in theory. Why these anti-reproductive traits emerge and why they persist in the world?

Wouldn't it be a form of 'Stealth Eugenics"?
The environment producing such anti-reproductive traits is powerful enough to override sexual and natural selection(which doesn't actually exists apart from third world). it also doesn't seem to come from a natural source: its entirely culture driven.
