I have a metaphysical question

If something is eternal, does that also mean it is very old?

From the point of view of time-space eternal would mean it predates the Big Bang, so at least 13billion years old for it to be technically eternal.
But in practical usage people use it for things that are fairly recent like "Eternal Flame" which is suppose to be lit for eternity, but has finite age.
