NPCs are not soulless automatons

NPCs are egregore-controlled humans, they still have an independent mind but their mind is enslaved and used as a tool for expressing the egregore mind, like a two-way radio channel.
see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egregore
Its possible to disrupt the link to egregore by subversive thought insertion(aka memes), allowing the original mind to assert its will and independent thought. The egregore can't focus on multiple mental challenges simultaneously and the "radio channel" has limited capacity.
NPCs can be reformed to PCs.

Thats doesn't make sense, let me describe my experience.
When i talk in my mind, mentally discussing and speculating, i don't send commands.
I don't "see" the mental voice of thoughts as "my decision"(voices don't decide), that is several steps later - the voice is used to depict my thoughts and to recall information to the forefront of my mind. The voice is like a neutral narrator trying to depict thoughts loaded from memory or constructed by the central processor.

1.It looks like a mental chatroom, not a command&control mechanism.
2.pre-thoughts are filtered before vocalizations. I cannot vocalize them even if i wanted, only few("leads") of these get focused on on.
4.The candidate("leads") thoughts are vocalized, described and depicted in the mind. They are judged and values are applied to get a complete mental picture - visual/aural memory is referenced.
5.Mental dialogue(or monologue?) begins, i argue against/for decisions, adding more of thoughts from steps #2,3,4.
There is always doubt and i have to reference memory to support arguments.

6.Decision is made. Its not final, as i try to refute it or make sure i'm not doing a mistake(then i revert back to arguing mentally to step #5)

7.Next round of mental chatter.
Interestingly when i chant specific mantras i could slip into "thought-less" mode, where i can observe lower-level reactive pre-thoughts which are normally filtered.
In meditation, i can't filter it(like the NPC), but its unlikely its a NPC state, as i still control the mind(Accepting the thoughts as my own, but not acting on them and believing in them as my own) and can direct its attention(e.g. ignoring or ridiculing each and every thought i don't like). Thoughts are mere tools, not expressions or commands to be executed blind.
Are NPCs uncapable of ignoring/resisting or filtering thoughts? Like a chatroom without moderation, without filters, without control?

I actually have multiple mental streams going on.

1.The default mindstream/stream of consciousness: this is not controlled by me, but sends tons of "information updates" and "pre-thoughts". Its always there, in meditation, mantra-chanting, etc can't be shut off or controlled, only ignored with explicit conscious effort(deep meditation).
Its probably the most creative part of my mind, but has lots of trash that has to be filtered or worked up with "Advisor stream".
Its probably best described as "awareness beacon" that is pushing pre-thoughts into the limelight. Focusing it on something generates thoughts about it.

2.The "voice(s)"("the Chatroom"), its like controlled voice actor(s) that depict my thoughts in verbal form. Most complex thing to describe its that is not a distinct "entity/mind/part" but more like a capability channel that can be used to do something - its very unlike the default mindstream(which lacks intention) the "voice" is filled with intentions and arguments, but lacks its own will. Like a mirror that shows you what you throw at it(actually a distorted mirror, it changes thoughts to a form suitable for vocalization and struggles with complex/rare concepts. Its not a "direct monologue of thought" its a converter system, actor hired to depict the thought.)
I can direct it to do whatever i want from singing a song mentally to describing the current mental condition as a chatroom with distinct personalities arguing. Its very malleable and can be shut off or changed, its even possible to having it depict imaginary conversations with other people or waifus(though it sounds kinda forced).
It can work in parallel with other streams, for example when i write this it chants mantras i repeat(the mantras are repeated by background voice at same time when i think stuff with "Advisor stream", but if i concentrate on either of them i either stop chanting mentally or stop thinking mentally: there is distinct "priority queue" that forces one stream to foreground).
I prefer to keep it occupied with mantras, which keeps the other streams contained in their own zones(A quad-cameral mind?) and not interfering with thoughts unless i allow it: if i don't give the voice any job(e.g. mantras or daydreaming), other parts of the mind starts controlling it more.

3.The advisor("Logic center"). Its like intuition "voicing" various "advices". It can direct the "voice" to say things, but doesn't have much control and is mostly non-verbal until i start analyzing the advice. Its voice is distinctly neutral and mostly lacks emotion. It feels like a "expert system"(autistic AI) that remembers everything.
I can easily ignore the advisor, but its always suggests valuable solutions and gives hints/inspiration to think about(inspiration in terms of motivational facts/data, not emotional at all) - its most rational part of the mind and directs all my logic/planning.
For example, when i have nothing in mind, its most active: it reminds me that i have tasks, that i forgot something, how to rationalize X, that i need to do Y. Its also my conscience and ethical guide, despite lacking in emotional department(it just categorizes emotions).
Its not fast at "thinking" though, its just extremely adept at using my memory and some other sources i presume are intuitational receptions of background states and stuff from the default mindstream.
The Mindstream->Advisor is most productive mode I've experienced, but without Voice its feels like i'm following a script(NPC-like, except i'm perfectly aware of what i'm doing. Its experienced like the "in the Zone" feeling and makes the Advisor faster(when its default speed is like x10 slower).).

4.The monkey("The Impulse Center").
Its emotional-reactive thought generator, centered on biological impulses/reactions.
It doesn't have a distinct "voice"(its very chaotic and uses mostly pre-thoughts, it controls the "voice" when nothing else is occupying), it pushes feelings, pre-thoughts and quickly adds emotional quips to mental dialogue(like e.g. you think about X, the monkey reminds you that X is associated with specific emotion and urges you to react with it).
Outside of emotions, its fascinated with memes, humor and various mental sports(like trolling). When its active most is when i play videogames or something that requires quick reflexes. The monkey is really good at "muscle memory" stuff and quickly responding to threats.
It can be ignored, but you lose the reflexive judgement and reaction speed. Filtering the monkey is harder under stress and time constraints. Its also fairly boring to not have emotional feedback from the monkey.
Monkey and advisor use different systems of thought: Monkey is all about speed-thinking and doesn't fixate on one thing, Advisor always fixates on something and is slowly adding cold evaluation data.
