Why are Russians such terrible drivers?

The only comparable nations in terms of strictly traffic fatalities are India (which is less), Iran (which is significantly higher) and African nations without even real road systems. In watching over a thousand hours of Russian dash cam footage I have come to the conclusion that bribery, alcoholism, and inclement weather cannot be the sole cause. The Russian clearly has no regard for life and operates in a state of technological barbarism.

I get that you're saying life sucks in Russia.
But here's the thing: America isn't the paradise you think it is.

You have some sort of fantasy about America being safe and rich and progressive. This is not the case, except maybe in some really wealthy (but also expensive) areas. Those are not the norm though.
