No, technology won't magically give you eternal life and allow you you explore the stars or live in your perfect virtual reality. Top lol. Where will the energy come from, brainy boy? Will godernment supply everybody with personal nuclear power devices? Who will develop these devices and using what resources?
Face it, there's zero chance of technology developing exponentially. Physics puts a hard limit on what technologies can actually make it out of theory and be manufactured in the real world. Robots will never replace human labor, everybody will die eventually, prolonged space travel will never happen since your "consciousness" is an emergent property of a system that includes your body and your body can't survive space. Further, virtual reality is a hollywood farce (just like "AI") and can never be perfected enough to be worthwhile.
