The technical definition of a pandemic means that it has reached all 7 continents. Currently, it has reached all 6, except Antarctica. And calling a pandemic will not change our response measures. And could have further detrimental economic and psychological effects to call it a pandemic. WHO said it well that the word "pandemic" has never saved a life. -Dr. Torres and Dr. Fair

My company has a “pandemic preparedness policy” which requires a declaration of a pandemic to go into effect. Before this policy is triggered, there hasn’t been much if any urgency in getting workers resources to work remotely or follow proper hygiene.
My question is: why am I waiting for Antarctica to get COVID-19 before I can start working from home?
