Reduced thyroid function, or hypothyroidism, is a well-known potential complication of long-term lithium treatment. This condition leads to a reduced metabolic rate, which in turn leads to weight gain.

I've got the same problem. I'm 175cm and weigh 60kg, despite eating at a caloric surplus for more than a year now I can still not gain weight. I do some bodyweight exercises (mostly pushups and pullups) every other day to stimulate muscle growth but I still look almost like an Auschwitz survivor. Any advice? My tips would be to put high quality plant oil (e.g. olive oil) on everything and consume a lot of liquid calories (e.g. blend some oats with milk honey and curd)
