It's not about fear, Apple products have garbage specs for the money. It's purely for Execs or creative types who want everything to ``just work''. What are you, some kind of quiche-eater that can't configure a hardware driver?

I even used to be a hardcore Macfag--they're the computers I grew up using! Picture me, at 5 years old, playing Apache Attack on the 512k. Later an LCIII. My parents bought a Performa and I remember being completely astounded by the fact that it had a TV tuner, A/V and Coax ports on the back. My PowerMac 8500/120 (also had an A/V card) lasted for YEARS, I ran several Hotline servers on it over my shitty IDSN connection back in the day.

For the longest time I thought it was the best experience you could ask for, until I got to be in High School, what little money my family had ran out, and the new Macs stopped appearing in my life. I was forced to use the hated Windows on shitty PII boxes etc. I remember the first book about Linux I got from the library--had to order it in from across the state--it had a Red Hat install disk in the back. Once I experienced the bliss of programming / using Linux I could never recommend a commercial OS to a fellow programmer again.

Later, I used a MBP for a while (it was lent to me to use at an iShit App shop), and it was a decent machine, but god damn it was worth like $3,500+. The baseline priced machines are all shit, you HAVE to buy a $500-$1000 a piece upgrades for your ram/proc/drives. I can buy 2.5 laptops or like 4 desktops that have better specs for that money

OSX a shit. Did you know it still comes with python 2.5 or some fucking stupid bullshit?

Plus if you want OSX that bad you can easily build a machine that will run it at half the cost of anything on apple.com

Oh and one more thing, if you've got a Mac and it's done a firmware update in the last couple weeks, enjoy your fucking spyware/wiretap box: The latest firmware update allows "Find my iPhone" to remotely power your desktop machine on and lock itself, while playing an alarm. I know, because it happened to my buddy (who calls me when his iMac shits up, because, of course, quiche-eaters), and it was a false positive. Some fucking nigger message came up on my friend's iMac screen saying "wanh wanh gimme phone back its got picture of muh keeeeiids". Unbelievable. He had to call Apple Support to get the thing to even boot up again. I'm sure it has something to do with the whole Intel backdoor shit.

I'm not even one of the libertarian retards that post here, and it still made me want to throw it out the fucking window. Protect ya neck, folks.
