Computer ``Science'' is only a science in the way that ``political
science'', ``library science'', ``military science'', and ``environmental
science'' are ``science''. Its only worth in our universe is to
occupy the time and efforts of people too ignorant to have the
ability to partake in real science, such as mathematics.

In my dictionary, the preferred definition of science involves discovering properties of the natural world. Engineering involves the application of those properties to solve practical problems. By these definitions we are neither scientists nor engineers.
