Hey guys,

How about we bring some legitimacy to this board. Instead of ridiculing Terry Davis for his schizophrenia, why don't we have him on here to do a little bit of Q and A, assuming that he's on his medication?

Don't be mean.

How was it mean to point out a potential security flaw? You can't be sure that the numbers are truly random and have not been tampered with unless you have generated them yourself.

I do it when I want to prove to the FBI that it's God.
Otherwise, I use local numbers from reading a high speed counter.

Terry, any plans for implementing networking on TempleOS?

Name: Terry Davis !A4jsQTgi.Q 2013-09-05 17:03

>>84
No. I haven't researched it, but there are lots of different card drivers needed. I sure don't want to do a browser. I'll just let people use Windows for that stuff, though, it sucks not being able to get files in and out easily.

Name: Anonymous 2013-09-05 17:57

>>85
Why do you choose to use Windows when you're not using TempleOS? Have you tried Linux?

Name: Anonymous 2013-09-05 21:16

>>85
Ah, okay then. You're right, too many drivers to have into account, and writing a browser from scratch is probably the most tedious shit you could even try to make.

Name: Anonymous 2013-09-05 21:39

>>85,87
Or you could just implement USB support and a few USB networking dongle drivers.

Fuck off, Adria.

Terry,

1) Why do all userland programs run in ring 0? Is this just to simplify things?
2) Do you ever get lonely when you, you know, work alone on everything? How do you cope?
3) With UEFI and all that, have you thought about moving onto a new project?

Name: Anonymous 2013-09-05 23:15

Would ECM or EEM require a full network stack to work?

Name: Terry Davis !A4jsQTgi.Q 2013-09-05 23:16

>>91
Ring-0 is far superior performance. Ring-3 is only good for bugs and it slows everything down. No bugs? run in ring-0.
Bugs make you have to reset. DOS was ring-0. Worked great.

In 1990 I was hired as an operating system developer in VAX asm for Ticketmaster's operating system. I am a professional operating system developer. That's what I do. God will have to kill the CIA and make demands.

I remember DTE transmits on 2. Therefore, DCE on 3. Those were much better times.

Name: Anonymous 2013-09-05 23:27

Would you be able to get any sort of performance out of DTE though?

Post more of what God says, Terry. When he told you 640x480, how did he tell you?

Name: Terry Davis !A4jsQTgi.Q 2013-09-06 15:45

In 2004, I began to work on other resolutions. I randomly opened a book. "God is not the author of this confusion." Recently I confirmed and God said, "the children of Israel" doing offerings. I'll confirm it again right now.

Virtual-Notary.Org hereby notes that on
Date: Friday September 06, 2013 13:46.09 EDT (UTC-0400)

a random drawing in the range [1, 100000], inclusive, based on
a hardware source of true randomness, yielded the following decision.

Random Value: 80001

1:19 And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the
son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship
mending their nets.

1:20 And straightway he called them: and they left their father
Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

1:21 And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day
he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

1:22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as
one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

God has spoken. Thanks, interesting to know the history and decisions behind TempleOS.

Do you still work on TempleOS? What are you working on right now?

Name: Terry Davis !A4jsQTgi.Q 2013-09-06 15:53

They were busy doing nets and said, "fuck this".

The truth is you cannot do higher than 640x480 without GPU support because 3fps is not acceptable. They make GPUs for a reason. Some people are so retarded they will argue and say "You don't need a GPU."

I work just a little bit. I try to find things to make it better. I've been improving ocde quality.

Name: Anonymous 2013-09-06 15:57

Would you consider doing work on GPU support if it ever became standardized?

>>108
I see. Do you work on any other projects, or does TempleOS and the related code take up all of your development time?

Name: Terry Davis !A4jsQTgi.Q 2013-09-06 16:02

I watched a Carmack presentation on graphics. You do people a favor with 640x480 16 color so they won't waste time and struggle. never anything but 640x480 16 color.

I do nothing. I am waiting for God.

When did God first start speaking to you? Do you still enjoy programming?

Name: Terry Davis !A4jsQTgi.Q 2013-09-06 16:20

1996. I made a 3-axis milling machine with CAD/CAM. I made simstructure. I made an operating system with compiler. No, I don't like programming. I have done everything interesting in programming. There is nothing interesting in programming left that I want to do.

Basically, God will start talking to the World and make orders.
Try this Windows program http://www.templeos.org/TSGodSetUp.zip be sure to hold-up your end of the conversation (out loud)-- be charming and maybe He'll talk.
