Why do so many people hate Java and like Erlang?

You use a OS level VM for that. Ever touched FreeBSD Jails, and ZFS snapshots? God, I get hard every time I think about it.
You create the VM, place any stupid faulty program in any language in it. Make a snapshot of that Jail, name it the version #, date, changelog deets, committer, etc.. Place snapshot on repository or DB (although ZFS kinda takes care of that, it has both archiving and compression tools). Play with your code again and again, repeat cycle.
