Why are programmers such pseudo-intellectuals?

I mean you don't see electronics engineers come up with some stupid social commentary about why a particular group of people aren't using a particular (albeit of extremely high quality) brand of tool.

If you're stupid, you're a liberal. If you're evil, you're a conservative. If you're smart, you're a libertarian. Programmers lean towards the stupid/smart boundary, but not too much.
