Is programming cool now?

I was watching King of the Nerds the other day and it had all sorts of nasty shit on it like bronies, japanophiles, pokefags, larpers, but no programmers. They even had contestants that were just engineers, but no programmers. This is clearly a sign that society no longer views programming as nerdy but cool. Rejoice, you can all go out tonight and get laid.

Either way: I remember being shunned for being ⁶⁶such a fucking nerd₉₉ and now those same kind of people are wearing huge Woody Allen style glasses and calling themselves 'nerds' while they've got no fucking idea what it's like being a god damn nerd.

Yeah, I'm mad. And you should be too. Take The Big Bang Theory for instance, a show that fucking MOCKS us. "Hahaha, it's funny because it's nerdy." is the internal dialogue of a viewer. And yet a lot of plebs are calling themselves nerds and 'playing' the latest iteration of shit-tier console games. I doubt those 'nurd gurls' actually play those shit games, they probably just use it to stand out among their friends.

tl;dr: People who call themselves 'nerds' are just like 13 year old script kiddies calling themselves 'hacker' because they've studied COMPUTER SCIENCE III, programming is actually considered by the plebs to be the 'creepy' kind of nerdy, hence no one wants to look like a programmer.

Man, I just realized life is full of fucking posers. Fuck. I'm gonna start a blog thread on /lounge/ and sage post every odd day with updates as to my depression and projects.
