Gender stuff

What's with the gender stuff? Especially the tendency of some posters to use ``ey'', ``them'', et cetera. Am I missing some fad that you guys are getting yourselves into in your real life OR some other online forum/community?

I am aware of the LGBT movement and whatnot, so that's that? Some of us here are part of this movement? Is it because of your ``openmindedness'', or are you a lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender?

Or perhaps it's some semantics enthusiast who longs for a gender-neutral spoken language?

If you want my sincere opinion, I think this whole thing is dumb. As dumb as getting a hissy fit on the use of the word ``nigger''. (or ``jew'')

Honestly I want to believe that /prog/ is populated by smart beings who don't have such stupid intellectual preconceptions. But you are lucky if such are your intellectual preconceptions: It's easy for others to point them out to you, and it's easy for you to understand them. What about me? I have no popular misconceptions. All my misconceptions are dark corners in an otherwise lit room. Nobody will point them out. Will I find out by myself?

This is the way it works in 95% cases, whether you like it or not, and until that biomechanic changes, there will be fixed roles. It's the optimal way for a human society to survive and reproduce. Any society where the man's and woman's roles deteriorate is bound to be overrun by the healthier societies. For example, right now the Western societies are being overrun by the Muslims who have crystal clear man-woman role distinction and therefore much higher birth rates than the gender-unsure Western liberal LGBT slime.
