It moves the conversation from a subject to attacks on each other. It's unscientific and ultimately destructive. Or ultimately not very interesting rather. And ultimately not very friendly either. If it continues I will move on to reddit, and if I can't find a substitute for /prog/ there I will disappear completely from the internet. Perhaps this is the best possible result.
