I've been reading this lately and, wow. I thought that SICP was enlightening, but I really feel that I'm about to reach the ultimate Satori. It takes a lot of thought to digest, and some of my understanding may be incorrect, though. I do recommend that everyone try to read it.
I'll be going for ThePrincipia Mathematica (Newton's) next, and maybe some of the classical works that I didn't care about in college.
>>1 I have tried to read it. I didn't understand everything, but I think it's just a type system. The whole .: ordeal was fun to replace parentheses. Imagine a lisp with .::. lol

Euclid's Elements are interesting, but pretty unnecessary. Also, the edition I read had the annoying Greek shit on the left page and the translation opposite, making it annoying to read.
Boole's The Laws of Thought should be required reading for anyone who gets to call themselves 66EXPERT COMPUTER SCIENTISTS99. Reading some Aristotle to supplement this is also fun. But don't bother with Philosophy and Fun of Algebra, written by his stupid wife (who killed him by dumping loads of cold water on him while he was sick), as it is little more than drivel about how marvelous and enlightening she finds i. (Maybe it has more, I only read a little of it).
>>34 What happened to you? You weren't nearly this inane during your first bout of flaming with Nikita back in the day. You didn't spray shit all over the place and occasionally even made a positive contribution.
I don't mind themed personas, but please try to vary it up a bit. Posting `pseudointellectual' in every post you make is more annoying than anything, and to be honest, I usually stop reading when I realize that it's you.
