So should I install Gentoo or FreeBSD? I want a desktop OS that would be more professional and have greater coherence (packages working correctly and compatibly out of the box, no dependency errors) than my current Archlinux OS.

I'm inclined to FreeBSD too, but are there BSD ports for every Linux package out there? Gentoo has a richer set of available software.
