There's 450GB of free space, a fairly powerful Xeon processor, and a 1Gb/s line...
Post here ideas to implement to use the resources/bandwidth, so I can promptly ignore all of them and forget to check this board for another 5 months.
Consider this list before suggesting:
o I won't run a Tor exit node (I2P might be fine if I can jail the Java instance enough) o No file uploading / caches of material, I don't want to deal with the issues that brings (security, DoS, legal, etc) o I'm not giving out shell accounts or setting up user-accessible VPNs
I'd be happy to lend out computational resources, I can write some shitty daemon that takes code and compiles it and runs jobs in the background and stores the results somewhere. You're also welcome to write your own daemons that waste bandwidth, processing power and disk space as they attempt infinite compression.
Think more programming oriented things, less stuff you could get from libgen or a random FTP server.
Virtual jukebox. People can upload music they like and if the majority of us like it then it will be added to a selection of music that the majority likes and will be played to everybody as they browse and post.
Gtk+ 3.2 will let you run any application in a browser thanks to the new HTML5 gdk backend. That means you'll be able to run GIMP, Gedit, a video editor or whatever, remotely (or on the same computer), using a web browser. Just imagine the possibilities!"

What about a /prog/ torrent tracker? That way, files aren't stored on the server, and there are no file caches either, because you can just offer magnet links instead of the actual torrent files.
To commit, the username is 'anon', and the password is the name for a user of this site (just read the README.txt if you're too retarded to figure that out).
If you want your own private repository, just put in a request using the public key I posted above.
It's chrooted and should be alright, but let me know if there are issues.

SHOULD I?

community seed box for sharing SICP videos VoIP for community party lines Touhou replay archive (written in Ruby for maximum Japanese and resource usage) that aborted anonymous social network that leegun tried to make project that gets DNA samples from /prog/ users and uses them to find the genes that express for autism, pedophilia, Down's syndrome, morbid obesity, early baldness, and sociopathy UUDP server to interface with this board MindForth (Mentishit needs root access for administration though) Free email accounts for underprivileged people of blackness with AIDS in Ebolaland who still lack access Network the IRC into EFnet
Actually, are these videos in the public domain? I will host them if so.
UUDP server to interface with this board
No only because I'd have to touch the Perl codebase and I have nightmares for months each time I try to do that.
Network the IRC into EFnet
The IRCd I wrote doesn't support multiple servers. And I don't think I want it to either way since I'd have to provide a lot of information about connections to other servers that aren't in my control. Right now it's as anonymous and as minimal as it can be. There's barely any people using it anyway.
