Learning to program computers should be fun, for adults and children alike. RUR-PLE is an environment designed to help you learn computer programming using the language Python. Within an artificial world in which a robot can be programmed to perform various tasks, you will learn what it means to write a computer program, using Python's syntax. You will also be able to apply your programming skills in a more traditional environment using the built-in interpreter. If these words don't mean much to you for now, don't worry.

They do mean, I do worry.

When I was a child I had read SICP and I had fun, do new children really need these new things? It's not like I am old

what happened to Linda Liukas' book?

People do not NEED university-schooling or degrees/diploma's in order to become inventors. So if he does not know the proper terminology for the principles that his invention incoporates it, will not stop him from inventing, would it? After-all words or naming a thing means nothing. Great inventors like Thomas Edison(Home-schooled by his mom) and the Wright brothers barely made it to high school and we know what they did,do'nt we ?

If he doesn't know terminology, he won't be able to exchange ideas with established community.

It is very important to make artificial toys for children to get them interested in computer science from a young age so that the autists who disgrace this field of study will have people at a similar social development stage that they can interact with at their level and\or molest

The best way to accomplish this is to remove all barriers for learning. Documentation is boring, and lets be honest, who the hell reads that shit anyway when you can get the answer from StackOverflow anyway? Also, the math is too intimidating too. I don't know about you gals, but covering hexadecimal and binary in the first day for my high school CS class caused about 30% of the class to drop. And if numbering systems is too difficult for the novice, then algorithmic complexity should probably be banned. So none of that either. In fact, don't even mention anything about algorithms. The next issue is the style of the code. All those brackets, braces, and parentheses are too nerdy. The days of nerds using computers is long over. Programming is an art for beautiful people who are going to change the world and cure AIDS in Africa and stuff. Instead, let's go with a bullet point style, where indentation is part of the semantics. Yeah, that's good, just like we learned writing our first research paper in 3rd grade (well, like I learned, we all know you just photocopied a page from the encyclopedia and your teacher did care because she knew you were going to be a failure anyway).

Most importantly, all those other, non-conformant languages should probably be restricted to places where children can't see them and get the wrong impression. Allowing things like Seeples around children would be like forcing everyone to have gay sex once a year so that actually faggots wouldn't feel like such freaks all the time. It just isn't right.

I don't think faggots feel freaks. Maybe just you?

What in $deity's name is this shit...?

The best way to get someone to learn computer programming is to lock them in a room with a computer-controlled lock and some documentation, so the lock unlocks only when a specific (documented) sequence is sent to the port(s) controlling the lock.

WTF is an ``artificial toy''?
