I've read that C++ is designed in such a way that the user can pick the features that he wants and otherwise use C. For example, Allison might just want structures with constructors and avoid having to put struct _lol lol everywhere, while Bobby might only need templates and the STL.

I don't think that's the way that it should be. I think Bjarn should go the route of Java or anything by Microsoft and require absolutely every feature be necessary to do anything useful.

What does /prog/ think?

I estimate that 90% of C++ code is just copy-pasted from StackOverflow these days. Another 9% is, of course, written for StackOverflow. Of all that code, most of it is just trial and error to find what works, completely ignoring the standard. Why would dear ol' Allison want to spend her valuable time, time she could be using to code up the her next app, writing it properly herself?

And anyway, coding to a standard that cost money is stupid. I argue that it is prudent- nay, a moral imperative, to fight the kikes by ignoring their standard until they release it for free.

Nah, Java-style forced OOP would be a bad idea, since Java is going to be a better language for pure OOP anyways. C++ really can't compete in that category until it removes the need for separate header and implementation files, streamlines the syntax for faster compile times, and adds support for threads and GUI interfaces to the standard library. The whole strength of C++ is that it supports almost any programming paradigm, rather than excelling at any one paradigm.
