Why care about efficiency - a case study of µBlock

I don't see any arguments for caring about efficiency.

First with Adblock Plus. Refresh many times. Notice the result.

I have a quad-core with 8GB and don't notice any slowdowns. Efficiency is shit.

I've been listening to some Jimmy Page's best guitar solos and couldn't help thinking: "Joe Satriani is a tier above this mediocrity". Page looks like an arrogant guitar masturbator in a woman wig. Satriani is a god of guitar that can make it talk and evoke a myriad emotions. Sure, Stairway to Heaven is great but only because Page's solo is so short.

I barely notice anything on my old two-core laptop with 3 GB of memory. You're probably imagining things.

Maybe you're just using this thing called "shindows"?

I hope this works on Cudder's browser.

It's good to have efficient programs. However, I wouldn't spend my time accounting for every cycle of my program. I would run naive versions of my program and do some profiling analysis to get real data about where I need to focus my effort to improve the processing.

You mean this? https://github.com/shindows
Never heard of it.

The server at shindows.microsoft.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Chromium from accessing the network.

I'm quoting something that, although, to my knowledge, never said by >>14, is definitely recorded in the Akashic records because it has actually happened.

Fix your link, man.

Nah, a loeb would be better than a fix here.
