Just tell them that you worked as a project leader for some secretive spy agency like the CIA or KGB. When they ask what you did there, tell them that you were working on top secret, high performance, scalable solutions with ultra high requirements. If they want you to be more specific, just look them straight in the eyes and tell them that you are not at liberty to say. If they ask for a reference, tell them that it would be stupid for the Company to give out information on their former agents to just any asshole who called up. When they ask you why you left, tell them that they were concerned that you were following orders to well, and that your perfect performance was hurting the morale of your teammates.
