HTML everything. Desktop apps as mere browser controls that extends a js object to communicate with the actual program. Even the command line was replaced like this. There was nothing but a browser, and it was the os. HTML generation functionality was added to the standard library.

I often have prophetic dreams. Have no doubt that this is the future of computing.

The idea of using a markup language to describe a graphical interface isn't a bad (or a new) idea. Have you ever tried making one though? Shit looks different in different browsers, CSS is shit, blocks are never placed where you want them to be, HTML is shit, your interface will never look uniform, JS is shit, everything is shit as it is now.

At the very least, those shitty bloated toolkits behave deterministically under the same platform, and some of the decent ones (like QT) actually look the same no matter what platform they're running on. Facebook appsweb browsers are far far from being a decent platform to work on.
