It's pretty obvious when someone is in a psychotic state. If someone is showing clear signs of disorganized thoughts and is saying and doing strange things, then somebody would have to take authority (usually a family member) and get them help.

There's been a few posts here lately on the ethics on psychiatry and the general effects of mental disorders. What this has to do with /prog/ I do not know, but it's a touchy subject for a lot of people.
