Why is it that we don't see any groundbreaking development on the field of A.I., but people continue saying we should be scared and whatnot? And it's not the usual crackpots, it's actually people who supposedly know better. I'm confused.

I'm working on a model that integrates fuzzy logic with back-propagated neural networks and uses a genetic algorithm and ant-hill optimization to perform a Bayesian optimization of the weights, integrated with Turing complete memory nodes, into a continuously learning module that utilizes full neuronal plasticity as well as an integrated expert system with full recall of the entire English wikipedia to allow learning and introspection even in absence of external stimuli.
