Why is it that we don't see any groundbreaking development on the field of A.I., but people continue saying we should be scared and whatnot? And it's not the usual crackpots, it's actually people who supposedly know better. I'm confused.

It would be interesting if hackers were successful in planting charges against someone in a government database, and they were arrested and put in jail. Whenever they claim they are innocent, the guards just look up their file and cite their charges and drop the issue. When he says the crimes never happened, the trial never happened, the guard shrugs them off. I've seen this used in a few movies, but I haven't heard about in happening in real life. You'd think it would have happened by now in at least one country.
