Most of you wouldn't be able to operate a perfectly fine flute made 42000 years ago, that doesn't mean flutes are outdated, it just means you're dumb. Fact is, you could have invented a flute yourself as a kid and played some sweet music, but you didn't because you're to dumb to realize basic music theory, even when you've been perpetually bombarded by sounds for your entire life. There's no excuse for that except admitting to the reality of you being stupid. Long lived tech is simple and does what it does, but you can't make use of it because...you're dumb!
