Hospitals in Japan often don't have rooms numbered seven, for fear that it is a bad omen. It's kind of opposite of us. Most asians are like that. For another example, on the Chinese stock market, red indicates up while green indicates down. The superstitions surrounding this are so prevalent, that some Chinese financial companies forbid their workers from wear green to work, and they shun any company that has anything linked to green in the name. A good article covering this is an NYT (or was it Forbes?) article I read a few years ago about what western companies take as their names in Asia. Sadly, I can't look it up for you.
