I can't blame Swartz for killing himself: either he chose to face a life of poverty for him and his parents after spending everything on lawyers, or a criminal record that would have pretty much destroyed every future prospect he had, dooming him to flip burgers for a living. He probably couldn't imagine doing anything else but programming. I personally can't either, so I would probably kill myself too.
