Quit Programming and become a Farmer

The guy rants about the industry and how it is garbage. So he goes and grows stuff on his acreage (wow that's a solution to the problem) and hunts game, digs trenches and ditches. Sounds similar to the guy who quit the industry to grow coffee beans, remember that story?

^ I don't think he's looked at this objectively - look at all the improvements that have been made to power saving laptops and tablets that turn off and go to sleep. Server rooms are indeed a bunch of MS-DOS like computers running bug prone C language programs on monolithic kernels, but what about all the advancements that have been made with power saving laptops and tablets. How about the fact that the internet, has created the ability to do scientific research much quicker by accessing science journals online instead of by postal mail.
