work is like this corporation they want to increase profits every year, more and more millions.
academia is just publish or perish.
global warming, carbon dioxide

It's like some people don't have their own personality and sovereign will at all and instead adopt whatever bullshit randomly penetrates their skulls. From "you must be competitive in school" (and what happens if you're not?) to "you must worry about global warming" (and what does that change? I mean, if you care beyond voting once every two years, which is pretty much the limit of what you can do?).
