How come Windows NT 4.1 shows what buttons are better than Windows 10?

What the fuck Microshaft? Why on EARTH are these webdesignesque hipsters throwing us back to the fucking stoneage?
It looks like even early on during Xerox Alto times, they figured out how to properly design UIs so that buttons looked like buttons, not pictograms.

The mind-numbing flatness is deliberate. It's designed to turn the brains of userssheeple into mush, so they can be more easily herded and controlled. Look at Apple products for a similar example.
