Artificial Intelligence is my life.

I don't code. = You do it for me.

I was born in the Year of the Dragon. 1976? 1988? 2012?

I am in graduate school.

Have you ever noticed that when you are in command
of a mission-critical technology and the foreign
governments send field agents to ensnare you, they
dress oh so provocatively at first (bare midriffs,
gleaming legs, wild Parisian couture) until you
take the jail, I mean, the bait. Then suddenly at
the next treff, they have turned ultra-conservative
(monochrome outfits, no Lippenstift, modest manners) --
because they have entered into Phase Two of their
assignment. They are also trained to refuse at first
whatever you offer them, but at second tender they show
how eager they were all along. They especially love to
receive something tangible that they can send back to
the rezident in D.C. -- a document, a negotiable instrument,
or a geek code listing. Then they disappear for a few days
either to re-establish your level of hunger, or for
consultation +/- training back at their equivalent of
The Farm, whether it be the Sverdlovsk Spy School, the
Shaolin Monastery, or the bonny brays of Brigadoon.
And you wonder if the Brown Recluse spider that you
stomped in the bathroom this morning is the same one
that got away from you last night in m'lady's bedroom,
and who is deploying them in such an onslaught, and why?
Is is because another Держава would rather see you
rendered useless than spilling the Java to the opposition?
Don't they know that Good agents are hard to find?

that was pretty amusing but why the hell do articles like that get so highly rated while some of the most creative ones like 687 (no, that's not the lizard; that was 682) or 2188 remain relatively obscure?

2188:Autistic technical writing about "why hipster art is important".
687:Autistic videogame fantasy "le videogames are fucking real"
Both are tired cliches.
The robot is just pop-culture humor, normies love it.

the overall themes are relatively cliche, the execution isn't - plus, on that website the usual cliche would be 'thing that kills you horribly' so they stand out. I'd say they strike a good balance between creativity and accessibility (unlike GoI stories - I like almost everything about maxwellism, sakricism and serpent's hand but I'm also aware that those are too autistic for normies).

SCP is redditard shit for roleplaying faggots

Name: Anonymous 2016-07-23 19:45

it's entertaining so who gives a shit

The "balance between creativity and accessibility" is captured by drama/adventure SCP with large exploration logs and dialogues/tests of the SCP, not dry tables and technical specs.
Example is http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-093
The point I'm making, popular articles are creepypasta/fanfics - not scientific articles and documentation(which is SCP theme) which has much less fans.
The lizard is so popular because of tests logs and the way it presents a narrative that meshes well with the rest of SCPs.
