Yes it is, but unless you're in an Ivy your "friend" is going to be a horrendously bad programmer. So bad that they'll always ask you for help (instead of going to stack overshit or whatever) and expect you to be their mentor because they're a "friend."

I am a broken person and I only feel safe when programming a computer. Other times I feel unsafe and scared.
