people always talk about how amazing it is that "we put a man on the moon with such low tech computing". As if more computer = more easier to get things done. Absolutely false. The more "advanced" (read: Complex) computer systems are the more they fucking get in the way.

Yeah? Nah. Software engineering nowadays has too high expectations coupled with too vague specifications and therein lies the difficulty. It's not like computing itself has become more unreliable, unless you voluntarily use things like mongodb.
